    Enoxaparin Sodium Injection

Enoxaparin Injection is an anticoagulant medication that is prescribed for the prevention and treatment of harmful blood clots. It acts by stopping the clots from getting any larger and stops any new clots from forming. It prevents deep vein thrombosis, blood clots in the veins, and pulmonary embolism.

A doctor or nurse must inject Enoxaparin Injection under the skin. This drug should not be injected into a muscle. The dose and length of treatment depend upon your medical condition, your response to the medicine, and what you are being treated for. It may also be depending on your age and weight. This medicine needs to be continued even if there are no signs of symptoms since it is going to prevent future damage. If you quit taking this medication, you might get a blood clot. During this treatment, avoid doing things that increase your chances of bleeding or getting injured.

    Medical Benefits:-

Enoxaparin Injection stops new clots from forming and prevents existing clots from growing. It works by blocking a substance in the body that is involved in blood clotting. This drug helps your blood flow smoothly throughout the body. This can help decrease damage caused by clots in your lungs (pulmonary embolism), brain (stroke), heart (heart attack), or other blood vessels (thrombosis). It can also be used to prevent clots from becoming larger after surgery, for example, to replace a knee or hip joint. Although it does not "dissolve" blood clots, it may stop them from getting larger, so your body can dissolve them over time. It can also decrease the likelihood of parts of a clot breaking loose and traveling elsewhere in the body.

    How Does Enoxaparin Work?

Enoxaparin is an anticoagulant. It works by inactivating certain blood-clotting proteins. The inability to form blood clots therefore prevents blockages in the body's blood vessels.

    Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ):-

    Q. How is Enoxaparin given?

Enoxaparin is given as an injection under the skin. Determine the medication dose and grip the skin fold of your abdomen using your finger and thumb. Make sure the skin fold is under the needle of the syringe. Clean up the area using a swab hold your syringe using your pencil and insert the length of the needle into your skin fold. For any suspicion or adverse reactions associated with the drug, call the doctor.

    Q. How to store Enoxaparin injections?

Store the Enoxaparin injection at 25°C. Never freeze. Vials should be kept in use for less than 28 days. Do not inject if the solution contains any particulate matter or is not within normal color. Also, never use an injection that shows damage in the syringe. Read the medicine package leaflet before you administer this medicine. Consult a pharmacist if in doubt.

    Q. Can Enoxaparin be used in heart attack?

Yes, Enoxaparin helps in the treatment of chest pain and heart attack once the normal treatment has been given to the patient. This injection is given along with another blood thinner like aspirin. As it is a blood-thinning agent, clotting of the blood is prevented; hence, any subsequent episodes and complications are avoided.
